"The most sophisticated people I know - inside they are all children."
Being an adult is super hard, so to offset that difficulty each weekend my friends and I do very unadultlike things such as eating loads of cake and skipping difficult hikes to eat pancakes.
After the trick eye museum we of course got cake and coffee.
We then went to an escape room. If you haven't been to one, you need to go! It was so much fun!
Two weeks ago all 7 of us signed up to go on a 6 hour hike. We woke up bright and early and got to the bus stop in Seoul by 7:00 on a Saturday morning. Rachael then missed her bus, which we were all very thankful for. So we all decided instead of a super intense day long hike we would instead go for pancakes, a movie, and cake!
Because we were all "prepared" for a hike, we had all kinds of food with us. So for lunch we had a really nice picnic along the Han River.
We also discovered a cafe near where I live that has resident dogs but also encourages other people to bring their dogs to the cafe. It was so much fun to snuggle and pet some dogs.
This guy was very interested in smelling me but did not want me to touch him.
Beth who has been my co-worker and one of my closest friends since I've been here finished her contract last week. Luckily she has just moved 3 subway stops away. Here she is pictured with two of my students Lea and Ella.
For her going away dinner we had these amazing brownies, best brownies I have ever had!
I was hoping since we were entering March that spring was right around the corner. Unfortunately this week we got some more snow, luckily it was very pretty snow.
We loved the first escape room so much we decided to do another one. This one was a lot harder than the first one and we needed a lot of hints.
On Wednesday our new semester started. Since Beth left and a new teacher started I was given her old classroom. I decided to try my hand at being a real teacher and decided to decorate the classroom with some new maps and hot air balloons with the kids names on them.
And to end this post on a high note! Today Beth, Sally, and I went to Ikea! It was extremely crowded and you couldn't really look at anything without knocking into other people but I got what I went for. My apartment is slowly starting to look like an adult lives here and losing the 6 year old vibe it had from when I first moved in.
Just and FYI if you are a lingonberry lover like I am, they now have a lingonberry dispenser just in case you didn't get enough!
This new semester goes until the end of August and in that time we only have 3 holidays. This means it is going to be a super long stretch with not that many interesting things happening. I'm going to try to write at least one post a month but we shall see if anything interesting pops up.
