“Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at
the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this
before.”
― Steven Wright
I've reached the point in living here that everything is normal or kind of a blur. I go to work, I hang out with friends on weekends, and I forget that I'm living in a foreign country doing really exciting/weird things. I find that I need to remind myself that I'm living in a foreign country, which is such a weird feeling. All of that is to say that I forget that the things I do here would be strange to do at home and I need to share them.
The first couple of photos are from a couple of months ago. My friends and I went to a raccoon cafe. Yes, as in a cafe that had raccoons just hanging out. I did have to google this but apparently raccoons are only native to North America. My biggest question was how they got permission to import raccoons? Unfortunately/thankfully the raccoons were not very active while we were there.
After the raccoon cafe we walked through a really cool part of Seoul called Hyehwa. The neighborhood is built up a mountain so there are lots of stairs and little alleyways filled with murals.
I discovered the panorama mode on my phone. Its my new favorite thing!
This was outside the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, which is a massive mess of buildings along with outside art installations. This is a cup from Royal Copenhagen! I own this cup! It made me excited to see a bit of Denmark.
This was a really cool art piece of thousands of LED roses. It was like a river of flowers.
We were apparently at the Design Plaza during Seoul's fashion week. There were hoards of teen girls following weirdly tall Korean boys around. Apparently the only requirement of being a male model in Korea is being over 6 feet tall.
There are my random weekends from the past two-three months!
